Online Directory

Our church uses a platform called Planning Center to handle everything from event registration to keeping track of who is using the building. It has been such an awesome tool for our church and we want you to get the most out of using it as well. To visit our Church Center page, click the button below. Feel free to poke around and familiarize yourself with it. Once you become more familiar, please be sure to update your online directory profile. By clicking "more" you will see a drop down menu where you will be able to update your profile in the online directory. With any questions, please contact Sarah Maddox.

Church Center also has apps you can download onto your phone to keep up to date with all things Sycamore! Just search "Planning Center" in the App Store.

Elder & Deacon Nominations

Officer nomination forms are now available at the welcome center. Members are asked to prayerfully consider men whom they believe are qualified and have demonstrated the ability to serve as an elder or deacon. Forms will be be accepted through Sunday, September 12, 2021. You can also fill out the form online by clicking the button below.

VBS and Missions Camp Update

Last week's Sports Camp was such a blast! What an awesome opportunity to build relationships and share God's word. This week we have another awesome opportunity to share God's word with younger kids through VBS and Missions Camp. It has already been such a blast as the kids "travel around the world" and learn about the Tower of Babel. Please continue to pray for VBS and Missions Camp this week and all of the volunteers making it possible!

VIP End Of Summer Picnic

Join the VIPs for our "End of Summer Picnic" at the Sycamore Church Playground on Thursday, August 26, at 11:30 AM. We'll enjoy hamburgers hot off the grill, baked beans, and other tasty items as we fellowship together. Bring a friend! Be sure to register with the church office so we can know many to expect; Please RSVP by Monday, August 22 at noon. Hope to see you there!

Women's Retreat - Register now!

The 32nd annual women's retreat registration is now open! The retreat will be from October 1-3. Be sure to register before August 22nd to secure the early bird discount! Hope to see you there!

Mission Trip to Barcelona - POSTPONED

Due to some travel restrictions that were recently put in place in Spain, we have determined the need to postpone the mission trip to a later date. Although we do not yet have a new exact date for the trip, since it will depend on current team member availability and the lifting of travel restrictions, I am hopeful that we will go for two weeks at some time during the first 3 weeks of November.

Dates: 2-week trip during early Nov, 2021. Exact dates TBD by team member availability and lifting of travel restriction. Open to 1-week options for anyone who cannot go for 2 weeks.
Max team size: 13 people
Who: Adults willing to do remodeling work. Experience in some phase of building construction helpful but definitely not required.
Trip cost: $1,400 + airfare.

Middle School Modgnik
September 10-13

Registration is open Middle School Modgnik! This is an amazing weekend of fun, fellowship, and learning that takes place each fall at beautiful Rockbridge Camp in Goshen, Virginia. The speaker this year is Erik Bonkovsky, the pastor of City Church in Richmond, and he will be speaking about "The Kingdom & Community." So mark your calendars and invite your friends! You don't want to miss this awesome weekend!
