Above are Nee and hubby Robert....

Illustrating that the inshore sea bass beat goes on by catching their limits of jumbos AND 1/2 a limit of keeper tog on Saturdays trip. Then they topped things off with a nice slot keeper bass (32 inches) caught by Nee.
All inshore trips this past week have been "pretty excellent" with monsta sea bass and some other critters making their way into the fish box.
With the warm water though, the bass bite in the river has slowed down quite a bit and on todays trip we did not even get a bite (we only tried one spot on the way in). We did however have over 30 tog caught on the boat as we fished only crab baits outside "for science/research purposes". I met Doctor David Taylor as I was researching my "mercury problem" and today was the second time he booked me to take some of his young future scientists out for research material. Along with Dave, "Colby" (Great name, hugh?), Ben and Brad were busy catching tog, sea bass and three cod all on crab baits.
Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment as we went "fluke fishing" (surely not "fluke catching"). We beat our way all the way to Noman's Island only to find a handful of shorts to barely 16 inches. Very sad!
Then we went to deep water west of the island and found half a limit of sea bass and a keeper cod. Everyone went home with some fillets even though we were only actually putting fish in the box the last hour and a half of the trip.
If I had my druthers, every trip would be an inshore sea bass trip based on the fact I like to see people catch easy limits of very large sea bass. But then we also have Coxes Ledge-Will give you an update on tomorrows trip (with pictures) Thursday afternoon.
I am looking for (up to) 2 people to join Jack and friends for this Friday's Coxes Ledge Trip (6am-1230/1pm at $175/person). For Coxes Ledge there is also one spot on the 24th and that is all there is scheduled. I may have to add another trip or two in September.
The next Thursday (inshore sea bass. 7am-noon at $125/person) opening is on 09/02.
Please include your name and phone # when scheduling.
