The August heat is drying and wearing on our body, and we have had quite a few hot days in Calgary this summer. But also during this month the body is starting to intuitively prepare for Fall.

Ayurveda is a great way to help your body, mind and spirit adapt to the heat of August while preparing for cooler Autumn days. Let's explore that idea together.
Plus through August and into Fall there are Reiki classes taking place for all levels. Keeping class size small and with Covid safety protocols in mind, I invite you to come and learn this beautiful healing art.

Keeping you updated as protocols around the virus evolve.
For now, as far as your sessions, nothing has changed with regard to cleaning and disinfecting, screening and masks. 

I ask this of you, for just a little longer, to protect those clients that, for health reasons (chemotherapy, awaiting organ transplant...) or age (under 12), are not yet eligible for the
current vaccines. They still need to be kept safe for their sessions. These are the clients I'm asking you to keep your masks on for, just a little longer, and I am really grateful to you for that.  I will continue to post updates here
Upcoming Dates for Your Holistic Sessions & Classes
If you're a regular client you should have received an email from me last week letting you know of changes to upcoming sessions after September 25th. (If you didn't receive it please let me know at handtohealth@gmail.com)

If you try to book online and cannot find a day or time to book your session that works please be sure to email or text me and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.
 

December & January dates

If traveling opens up through the holiday season I will be going to visit my son, daughter-in-law and grandson at some point through December and/or January. As soon as I have my flights booked I will work out the dates for sessions and they will be posted on the website and social media platforms. I will do my best to post them as soon as possible.

Easy Melon Sorbet

Ingredients: 

• Any of your favorite melons! Just make sure they are super-ripe! (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon)

Directions:  

1. Cut your melon into cubes, and freeze it in a Ziploc bag.
2. Once the fruit is completely frozen, place the melon in a food processor, and puree. You may need to add water to smooth.
3. Serve right away. 

Asparagus and /or carrots with lemon-herb sauce

Steam your chosen amounts of asparagus and/or carrots to the point where they are “fork-friendly”. This means a bit more than al dente but not soft or mushy. Then pour the following lemon-herb sauce over the vegetables.

Lemon-Herb Sauce : Juice one lemon. Add a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon of honey (use only unheated honey). Mix together in a blender with a few leaves of fresh basil and mint. Puree until smooth.
