Fire Stories - Insights on how you can be prepared for fire season
The following videos will help you understand and become better prepared for current and future fire seasons.
Wildfires have long shaped the Pacific Northwest. These fires burn when oxygen, a spark and fuel come together. Knowing the Fire Triangle will help you and your community to be ready in the event of a wildfire. The Center for Science Communication research, along with its partners Joint Fire Science Program and the Northwest Fire Science Consortium, offers insight on how you can be prepared for this fire season.
When wildfire smoke blankets our region, we breathe in particles so small that they can lodge deep in our lungs. Hazardous air conditions are dangerous for everyone, but especially for those with higher risk.
While we cannot directly control these factors, there are precautions that we can take to be ready for fire weather. The Center for Science Communication Research, along with its partners Joint Fire Science Program and the Northwest Fire Science Consortium, offers insight on how you can be prepared for this fire season.
