A Day with GodRolling Ridge Conference and Retreat Center North Andover, MA |
Come and spend a day with God! This is a day when we can come together and listen to meditations, walk the labyrinths, enjoy a wonderful lunch, wander some beautiful grounds, think about your relationship with God, walk some trails, sit by a lake, and just be with God. Some of the day will be directed, and some will be on your own to think about what you have heard and what’s been placed on your heart. On Saturday August 28th, we will meet at the church parking lot at 9:30 AM and carpool to Rolling Ridge Conference and Retreat Center in North Andover, about a 45-minute drive. There we will spend time in the outdoor chapel, the labyrinths, and other areas of the grounds. There will be places to sit and think, paths to walk, and plenty of nature to enjoy. And the food is out of this world! We will meet at the courtyard there at 3:00 and head back home. The cost is only $25, and scholarships are available. (Please don't let money be the reason not to come!) If you want to come, or have any questions, contact Bonnie-jean Rowe (Bjmrowe@verizon.net, 508-523-8582). Please let her know you are coming by the August 22nd! Visit the Rolling Ridge Retreat Center Facebook page. Click here. |

Next Book Study!Join us Wednesday Evenings, 7-8 PM, August 4-Sept 8 for our next Book Study: If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boatby John Ortberg |
Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus. In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, "Come"? Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The experience is terrifying. It's thrilling beyond belief. It's everything you'd expect of someone worthy to be called Lord. |
The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in the process. There's just one requirement: If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat. In this Christianity Today Award-winning read, bestselling author John Ortberg pushes you to take the last step that separates you from the adventure of your life. And, as a result, you will learn to: |
| |
• Recognize God's presence • Discern between faith and foolishness • Not only expect problems, but field them when they come • Reorient your thoughts about failure and see it as an opportunity to grow • Wait on the Lord • And, ultimately, connect more deeply with God Books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble (Get the book with the red on the cover, not the all blue.) Prepare for the third session – read chapters 4 & 5.
