OF OUR CAST!
DACIA NEDD, as Roberta, one of Maria's co-workers of at Episcopal Hospital:
"Something that really relates and sticks close to me in my experience about this play is Maria and her passion and drive to see her neighborhood flourish despite the circumstances and the rumors that go around about her neighborhood being the "badlands". What excites me most about this play is seeing Fairhill in all its splendor and the message of how far the community of Fairhill has come despite the challenges that happened over the years."
-Dacia Nedd
CHARVEZ GRANT, as Jackson, one of Maria's many young surrogate sons:
"One of the things I relate to the most in this play is Jackson’s relationship with Sam and Maria. I have a close friend of mine whose mother treated me like a son and encouraged me to chase my dreams and he and I have had some of the same conversations that Jackson and Sam have. People should see this play to be reminded about how much a close knit community can have a positive effect on our everyday lives."
-Charvez Grant
BLAHIR SARGENT as Alice, the granddaughter of one of Maria's dear childhood friends, also named Alice.
"I'm excited about this play because I love theater and it's in my neighborhood - so it makes me feel comfortable. I think people should see the play because it is something positive and inspiring for other neighborhood children who may struggle with doing the right things."
Blahir Sargent
A note about the casting of this production:
The cast of A Thousand Fibers is composed of experienced actors and community members with little or no acting experience. This casting choice is informed by our values of mutual mentorship and honoring the artist in each person.
