Events and Programs 

This September, we’re excited for a return to regularly scheduled programming! It’s time to bring back  in-person After Hours at the Museum, Curator Tours, and Docent-Led Tours! Take a look below at our jam-packed September event schedule. 
After Hours
September 2 from 4 to 8 pm

We're staying up late! Join us for After Hours every first Thursday of the month, from September to May, when we give you extra hours to view your favorite exhibitions! 
Curator Tour
September 2 at 6 pm
 

Join Dr. Alex Rich, Executive Director and Chief Curator, each month during After Hours for a guided tour of the galleries, as he provides visitors with in-depth art historical and curatorial insight into the Museum’s current exhibitions.
Point of View Gallery Talk
September 10 at 12 pm
 

Join us Friday, September 10th at 12 pm, as Holly Scoggins, Professor of Art at Polk State College, provides an in depth overview of our current exhibition American Impressionism: Treasures from the Daywood Collection
Members Season Opening
September 10 beginning at 5 pm
 

Join us for an in-person Members event celebrating our new exhibitions American Impressionism: Treasures from the Daywood Collection and Pictures at an Exhibition: A Guest Curated Exhibition by the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra
Summer Art Camp Exhibition Reception
September 11 at 11 am
 

We invite the friends and family of the students whose artwork is showcased in our Summer Art Camp exhibition to join us in celebrating at the reception on Saturday, September 11th at 11 am.
Bring-a-Friend Days
September 11 and 12

We welcome our Members to bring their friends and family to the Museum on September 11 and 12 to view our current exhibitions and give them the opportunity to enroll in membership at a discounted rate! Your friends and family can enjoy 10% off Family, Sponsor, and Advocate Membership in honor of Member September!

Member Exclusive: Virtual in Conversation with the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra 
September 16 at 6 pm
 

In this Member-Exclusive conversation and Q&A, join Dr. Alex Rich, Executive Director of the Museum, as he takes your questions and chats with Amy Wiggins, Executive Director of LSO, and LSO musicians about how music connects with art, about the new PMoA and LSO collaborative show entitled Pictures at an Exhibition, about the Russian inspiration for the show, and so much more.
Docent Tour
September 18 at 11 am


Join us each third Saturday of the month to get a fresh look into the Museum's featured exhibition through an informative and engaging conversation with one of our passionate docents. 
 
Member Exclusive: Museum in Focus with the Curatorial Team
September 30 at 6 pm


Join us September 30, at 6 pm for a behind-the-scenes talk and tour with our incredible Curatorial Team! Join your favorites, Laura Putnam, Loren Hicks, Matt Belcher, and Dr. Alex Rich, for an evening panel discussion at the Museum!

We are so grateful for the unconditional support of our Museum members. Thanks to you, we are able to provide exceptional educational programming, world-class exhibitions, exciting events, free admission, and everything else that makes the Museum a special place for our community. 

To celebrate, we're bringing you Member September! This month, we'll be offering you amazing giveaways, a double dose of Member-Exclusive events with special guests, and bonus offers to help you share the gift of membership.

Education

After School Art

Mondays, September 27 -  November 1
4:30 pm, Ages 5 to 12
Free for Members, $5 per Non-Members


After School Art is designed for the parent and child to learn creative new skills together. Come join us for a new lesson each week using different mediums and learning about the elements of art. Our activities are easily designed to be recreated at home to further enhance your young artists’ skills — and yours, too!

Doors open at 4:20 pm. Space is limited; be sure to arrive early to secure your spot!

Are you ready to fall in love with our fall class lineup? Whether you’re a beginner or a long-time artist, you're sure to find the perfect class for you. We base our course offerings on the underlying belief that individuals want to be life-long learners.
