"Living With Certainty"

by Pastor Mark Wagner

There is a wonderful doxology found at the end of the Book of Jude.  Unpackage this with me and worship.

“To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

Have you ever felt that you were a bit off-balance and about to fall?  Maybe it is your personal health, the ongoing Covid crisis, or the weight of unexpected trials.  Notice in these verses that the glory goes to Him who is able to keep us from falling.  We might be teetering but the Savior has His hand on our shoulder holding us up!

More than this – He is able to present us to the Father without any fault and with great joy.  How is it possible for a holy God to see and present us without fault?  Because, when the Father sees us – He sees our account “paid in full” by Jesus. What a cause for rejoicing!

Now join me in re-reading these verses out loud while offering praise to the Lord.

“To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

“Glory, majesty, power and authority!” These words express our confidence in Jesus Christ for what He will accomplish in us today…and beyond.  Our lives can have certainty because of His promises. “O come, let us adore Him, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
