CEGA Global Workshop (Fall 2021):
Call for speakers and participants

CEGA is excited to re-launch the CEGA Global Workshop this Fall 2021 semester, co-convened by EASST Fellow Saba Yifredew and CEGA affiliated professor Jeff Weaver. Restarting on Wednesday, September 8, the CEGA Global Workshop is a bi-weekly virtual forum that brings together researchers from the CEGA affiliate network, as well as our partner networks in the Global South (EASST, WGAPE, BRAC, DIWA), to share early-stage work, provide constructive feedback to peers, and build research relationships. The workshop features work from diverse disciplines related to development, including economics, political science, data science, public health and psychology.

Details:
  • The CEGA Global Workshop will be held bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm GMT (10:00-11:00 am PDT// 8:00-9:00 pm EAT), starting September 8th. Due to the end of Daylight Saving Time, the last three sessions will take place at 9 am PDT//7:00 pm EAT.
  • Each session will feature two 30-minute presentations or one 1-hr presentation, with discussion moderated by a chair. Presenters will be members of CEGA’s network (faculty, PhD student, or postdoc), or one of our partner networks in the Global South (EASST, WGAPE, BRAC, DIWA).
  • Two sessions will be extended by 30 minutes to give participants the opportunity to meet other researchers and build collaborations. Advanced registration will be required for these sessions.
If you are interested in presenting this semester (between September 8 and December 15, 2021), please fill out this form before August 24th. Note that we will prioritize early stage work that would benefit from feedback, including research designs, pre-analysis plans, preliminary findings from ongoing work, etc.

Information about upcoming sessions will be shared through a google group. If you didn't already sign up for past sessions and are interested in being included in this group and receiving updates with upcoming talk titles, paper abstracts, and Zoom links to join the sessions, please fill out the form above.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

Best regards,

CEGA's Global Networks team
