Dear Parents/Guardians;
I hope all is well with you and your family.
Before you start shopping for school uniforms, I wanted to let you know of a significant adjustment that we are making to our School Dress Code for the 2021-2022 school year. We will be changing our pants/capris color options to only include navy, gray, or khaki (tan). Black pants/capris will no longer be part of the school dress code.
We also want to clarify that school uniform pants should be majority cotton and/or polyester material. We will continue to allow uniform style pants to be purchased at any department store that has a uniform clothing section.
Below is the new policy that will be included in the Parent Manual and Student Handbook:
A. PANTS, PANT SHORTS, & CAPRIS
Navy, gray, or khaki (NO BLACK) uniform pants; navy, gray, khaki, or black uniform shorts; navy, gray, or khaki (NO BLACK) uniform capris may be purchased wherever uniform clothes are sold (i.e. Educational Outfitters, Target, Old Navy, Gap, Wal-Mart, JC Penney’s, etc.) but must be the appropriate waist size. No oversized pants, tight pants, or “cargo” style pants, leggings or denim (jean material) will be allowed. Uniform material blend should consist of primarily cotton and/or polyester. All pants must be modest with no flesh or undergarments showing, and no holes, rips or tears. Shorts must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Elastic waistband uniform style pants and shorts are allowed for grades Pre-K and Kindergarten.
I also want to emphasize the proper protocol for outerwear. Outerwear (jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies) with pictures or patterns are not part of the school uniform.
G. OUTERWEAR INSIDE THE BUILDINGS
Only the following outerwear is acceptable:
1. Uniform school sweatshirt (pullover, hooded or zippered - royal blue or ash gray)
2. Uniform school sweater (royal blue/ash gray cardigan)
3. Uniform school jacket (polar fleece navy blue)
4. The school’s letter jacket
5. Solid colored jackets/sweatshirts with no words, pictures, symbols, or brand names
If you have any questions regarding our dress code, please feel free to contact Mr. A., or Mrs. Troth for clarification. If you have an item you are unsure of, please feel free to send us a picture of the uniform item, and we can let you know if the item will be considered dress code appropriate.
God Bless,
Mr. A
