FAIRVIEW COLUMNS

OUR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Thanks to our deacons for arranging the painting of our sanctuary! This crew is doing a fine job.

THANKS, DEACONS!

Fairview Family, I'm going to use this space today to highlight the work of our deacons. This current group of men have had a number of projects this year to go along with caring for our members and ensuring that special events (like fellowship events or VBS) take place well without a hitch. The work that they do is not always visible, but it's of the utmost importance to the church. Be sure to thank and encourage your deacons. Who are they, you might ask? Here they are in their committees:

Congregational Care/ Outreach: Stutts Armstrong, Cephas DiLella
Facilities/ Grounds: Wes McCarter, James Wickliffe
Budget/ Finance: Rob Shirley
Services/ Scheduling: Jimmy Sprouse

Thank you all for your love for Jesus and His Church!

"For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 3:13

Grace be with you.
Kenny

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Children's Volunteer Rescreen
According to our childcare protection policy, all teachers and volunteers in our children's ministry must be retrained every two years. If it has been two years for you, you should have received  in your inbox an email about completing the training once again. Several of you have already done this and thank you! You'll notice as you complete the training that the videos are much better than they used to be, and the training goes quickly. Questions? Email Kenny Maple or speak with Lynn McCarter.

Book of the Month | R.C. Sproul: A Life by Stephen Nichols
Each month I'll use this space to suggest a book to you. Our first one is a biography of one of the great pastors, apologists, and writers of our denomination, Dr. R.C. Sproul. Nichols does a remarkable job weaving in theology, philosophy, apologetics, and church history into his telling of the life of Dr. Sproul. Aside from that, you'll also enjoy learning the motivation behind some of Sproul's most beloved books.
