Why video calls are here to stay

Like many of you, I like working in the office, with the buzz of people around me, and over the pandemic I found day after day of video calls draining.

But Zoom and Teams will remain a permanent fixture of working life - partly because hybrid working is what top talent now expects, and partly because WFH has a much lower carbon footprint than commuting. As this week’s alarming IPCC report on climate change made clear, cutting emissions really is everyone’s responsibility.

Fortunately, video calls do not have to be awkward and exhausting. As this week’s blog discusses, they can actually help us boost our effectiveness - if we use them wisely.
