Friends, Here are in the middle of August already. The year continues to fly on by. I held off sending this letter because of the event we just held this past weekend in Loganville, GA. What an incredible time it was at the Zoweh Allies Gathering with our friends of Zoweh. It was an amazing time to spend a couple of days with Michael, Greg, SJ, and Dave from Zoweh as we gathered men from the local community, around north Georgia and even had allies joining us from South Carolina. It turned into an incredible time of encouraging men and guiding them in the importance of finding and building real and authentic community. Something that so many men, desperately need, whether they know it or not.
The men that came to the event seemed locked in, hungry, and engaged in the message. For me, it was a night and weekend of amazing honor and affirmation in the mission we begin nearly 5 years ago. We also had our buddy Britt Barnes come down from Tennessee to do some forging demonstrations, which the men seemed to really enjoy. It's always a blast to see those guys demonstrate their craft and gifting.
There's so much I could share about the weekend, but I'm ever grateful for the friendship and alliance we have forged with Zoweh these last years. Are heart is seeing men become oriented and alive as men and thereby seeing families and communities become oriented and alive. We will keep going. Hope you will join us.
Anvil Fall 2021 - Registration Open As we announced in May, registration for the Fall 2021 Anvil is now open and we are now just 3 months away. We will return to Strong Rock Camp in Cleveland, GA the weekend of November 11-14. For those of you that have been to Anvil, I encourage you to return invite others to join you in this adventure. Speaking of not limiting God, I love what a brother said regarding a weekend like Anvil. Simply that none of us our done. Whether you have been before or even been to 4 or 6, there is always more for us to uncover. I can speak from my own experience that anytime I step into a weekend like this, God shows me more. More healing takes place and more freedom and life and discovered.
Anvil Knives As many of you may have seen in the past months, as a way to support our mission, we partnered with my friend and brother in the faith, 2019 Forged in Fire Champion and ABS Blade Smith, Billy Salyers of the Yellow Rose Forge in Rutherfordton, NC to commission the first Anvil EDC (Everyday Carry) blade.
I absolutely love these blades. It has become an everyday carry knife for me and not only looks great, but also a very useful tool. We still have blades available and you can receive one of these great blades for your generous donation of $150 or more.
Firepit Conversations: If you haven't seen, we are now on YouTube! This has become a great place to share videos on Facebook and YouTube with the aim of offering hope and encouragement, especially in this day and age. I call them Firepit Conversations. This is a weekly video series that I've began to continue offering encouragement and things God shows me each week.
