Dee Mile

Sat 7 August was the long awaited return of the Dee Mile.
Would COVID, rain or sewage stop play? Fortunately not and despite all the challenges, Mark Taylor, Leigh Jenkins and all the volunteers were able to put on a great event for the 319 swimmers who took part on the day.

There were plenty of podium finishes (although we weren’t allowed to hold an actual prize giving) and great times among the 25 Chester Tri members who took part, including:
- Jane Nunn was overall female Champion of the Dee and 50-60 AG winner
- Shona Arthur won 60-70 AG Champion of the Dee
- Emma Sharpe was overall first female wetsuit
- Janet Robb won 50-60 AG wetsuit 1km event
- AG positions in the 2km event were claimed by Lucy Howell (2nd) and Pam Stonehouse (3rd)
- AG positions in the 1km event for Amy-Louise Belcher (2nd), Julie McDonnell (2nd) and Benjamin Smith (3rd)
