Learn to Leyn! Torah Readers Wanted!

Just as the ancient Israelites contributed what they could to the original Mishkon, we are seeking people to make a similar contribution to our Mishkon: people willing to learn and sing the Torah readings on Shabbat morning.

This is an honored tradition, and all it requires is an ability to read Hebrew, a little time to learn the melody (trope) for that week, and a heart filled with joy as you fulfill the mitzvah of reading Torah on behalf of the community. If you are interested but unfamiliar with the trope, we will help you learn it.

Our Mishkon community is a warm and supportive place to develop this lovely talent, and we want to cultivate a broader pool of volunteers to read Torah on Shabbat and holidays. It’s easier and more fun than you think! Please
be in touch with Rabbi Katzan for more information.
