32nd Annual Crestone Energy Fair

RECONNECT: Self...Village...Nature
August 28 & 29, 2021

We are only a week away from the 32nd Annual Crestone Energy Fair and our crew has been working hard to bring you a fresh and exciting mix of presentations, demonstrations, vendors, home tours and music for the the two day event.  Keep checking our website www.crestoneenergyfair.org for the most up to date information and schedule of events.  Remember that this is a living experience and we can only create and manifest all of these possibilities with your help.

Directions, Parking & Shuttle
68575 County Road T
From Crestone:  Take CO RD T to the POA/Funeral Pyre sign (Camino Del Oro East) and turn Right.  Turn left into POA Parking lot.
Please park in designated spots in the POA Parking lot and check-in at shuttle pick-up table. Shuttle will be available for the General Public throughout the event.  If you need ADA parking and have a valid pass, please follow signs to continue to site – 19850 Camino del Oro East.

We will kick off the weekend and create the container for the event with an interactive Opening Ceremony and presentation on our theme RECONNECT:  Self, Village, Nature on Saturday morning at 10:30AM.  We are inviting all families that have 3 or more generations living in Crestone to join us to be honored in this opening.   In addition we will orient you to the site, the format of the weekend and introduce you to our Gallery Stroll which will be an interactive tool used to collect information and contemplate solutions for some of our communities most pressing concerns.

The Home Tours of under construction and completed homes will kick off at 8:30 AM from the kiosk both days.  Please see post below for full details.

We will have an expanded Kids Village hosted by Rainbow Lighting that will include programming for parents & kids as well as infant care.  Our builders will be hosting hands-on demonstrations of natural building techniques such as strawbale, cobb, adobe, hempcrete, earthbag, papercrete and of course some tire pounding a building a bottle wall.  All of this will be interactive to build a new play area with the kids & parents.

ScSeed (Saguache County Sustainable Environment and Economic Development) is our event fiscal sponsor and they will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, August 29 from 10AM-1PM.  This will be in honor and memory of Linda Joseph, a former board member, County Commissioner and Co-Founder of Earth Art Institute.  This event inspired us to create a memorial area for all of us to honor, grieve and celebrate those who have passed on in the last year or so.  Please bring pictures or other mementos that can be displayed.  We will also create an effigy with messaging that will be burned as part of our Closing Ceremony.  It is crucial that we honor all of the stages of life together to build a stronger foundation and future for our community.

We will have a delicious mix of local and regional food vendors on site and there is still space to sign up. We will continue our tradition of hosting a Community or Conscious Kitchen.  This allows all of our participants to be served healthy, nutritious meals throughout the weekend regardless of their financial situation.  Food is a building block of creating healthy communities.  Thank you to Faith Lotus for leading this area of the event.  She and her crew will be serving our volunteers throughout the days leading up to and throughout the event.  Thank you to Valley Roots Food Hub  and Forged & Sewn for their sponsorship of our Green Room and to Elephant Cloud and Crestone Mercantile for food donations to the kitchen. We hope to add a few more of our local businesses and markets to this list as the event approaches.

We will continue the tradition of offering a FREE event so there are no financial barriers to participation but ask that you consider the value of this education and networking opportunity for you.  Please consider making a donation to support our efforts:
