Please arrive early to sign in for contact tracing.
Reservations are not required.
Sadly, if wildfire smoke is at an unhealthy level, the service will be canceled as we will not be able to use our indoor ventilation system mandated for building use.
We will post an alert by 8:00 a.m. on our website on Sunday morning
if there will be no service.

Live-streaming of Christ Church services and other in-church events will become a possibility when we have gathered the necessary funds.
Please support this project by sending your donation to the church, marked "for Live-streaming Fund" or donate online at our secure Online Givingportal directly into our CC Live-streaming Fund.
Prayers, psalms, canticles and scriptures from the Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer and Enriching Our Worship. Participants share in reading the passages aloud. LECTIO DIVINA(Meditative reflection on a passage of scripture, by Zoom)
Tuesdays 7:30 a.m.(25-30 minutes)Participants listen to a passage (usually of Scripture) several times, engaging deeply with the text as its meaning unfolds and evolves with each reading. Those who wish briefly share their "take-aways" from the passage with each other.
Forward Day by Day, daily devotions based on scripture readings, provided by the Episcopal Church since 1935. Also included: a suggested action based on each day’s meditation, along with a suggested focus for prayer. Daily meditations are availablehere.

RENTAL & UTILITY ASSISTANCE GRANTS AVAILABLE
Washington State Department of Commerce’s rental and utility assistance program, funded with state and federal dollars, may prevent evictions by paying past due, current and future rent for people impacted by the pandemic. If you or others in our state are seeking assistance, grants (not loans) are available. Check here for all counties, and here for Pierce County.

OUR LITTLE FREE FOOD PANTRY
We need non-perishable foods with easy-open containers.
Bottles of water, Pouches or boxes of juice,
Individual tubs of fruits & vegetables,
Tab-top cans of pastas, meats, fruits, vegetables,
Peanut butter & Nutella.
For pets, Tab-top canned dog and cat food
The pantry is located on No. K Street in front of Wells Hall.

MOTHER JANET'S RETIREMENT
Mother Janet's last Sunday at Christ Church is September 26. If you've not seen her retirement announcement you can read it here. Mother Janet remains Priest in Charge until her retirement and will continue to work with the Program Staff and Leadership Team. She will concentrate on assuring a smooth transition and will help with the orientation of our new Parish Administrator Deborah Breneman and preparing the rector's office and files for transition to an Interim Rector. After Deborah is settled, Mother Janet will work mainly from home due to Covid precautions, and will be with us on Sundays for worship. NEXT STEPS: Announcements will follow as the Wardens, Program Staff and Vestry work with Canon Arienne Davison on calling an Interim Rector and then the process for seeking and calling a new rector.

Let us give thanks to the Creator for the Puyallup and Nisqually people on whose ancestral land this church and many of our homes stand. Their descendants live among us still. For their wise stewardship of the creation, we offer our gratitude. May we never forget that their land was taken by force and broken treaty.
