Who doesn’t love a good picnic? We are excited for yet another annual GraceLife picnic which will also honor Pastor Tim and Dawn, bringing light to God’s faithfulness to our church family. Save this important date and plan to join us Sunday, August 29th, beginning at 3pm as we celebrate together with our families. This picnic won't be like any other picnic we've ever had so you won't want to miss it!

Romans 12:2

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

It is not hard to see the contrast in how God calls us to live against how this world would influence us to live. When someone wrongs you, the world says to get even. God says to forgive. When the world says to look out for yourself and get ahead in careers, school, and life, God says to prefer others greater than yourself. When we face struggles and trials, the world tells us to try harder. The Lord says to trust. In our trust, all burdens and worries find peace because, as the Scripture says above, we will be able to identify His will for our lives. This world is not our home; these problems will fade. We must remember that Jesus is victorious. We are going to be singing a new song this week that reminds our souls that the battle is the Lords, and He is our mighty fortress, going before us, protecting us.

Happy ‘Back to School’ week for many of our students and families! While this year may not be just like we’re used to, it’s definitely heading toward a more normal feeling. Unfortunately, part of normal is the potential for overwhelm and stress for our kids. This short article from Crossway has some helpful hints for helping our teenagers stay less stressed and more able to recharge and connect with Jesus and others. Happy Thursday GraceLife Family!

Thank you so much for praying for us while we were at camp this past week. God was definitely at work in the lives of our boys and girls from GraceLife. It was a privilege to see relationships built among the boys and girls and to see the group challenged to get into God’s Word on a daily basis. We came home with two new sisters in Christ and also had a brother realize that he needs to be baptized. I hope to be able to share more about camp in the days ahead.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for praying for my family and I as we have dealt with the coronavirus in our house this week! I am very grateful for our wonderful church family and for all of the ways that you have encouraged us this week! I hope to be back in the office at some point next week! — Pastor Dave

This Sunday all of our kids age 2 through 12th grade will promote to their new classes. You should have received an email with more information about this if you are a parent of a preschool or elementary student. Our students 6th-12th grade have two Life Group hours to choose from at 9:30 or 11:00 am. Those classes will be combined middle and high school for both hours.

Please be praying about helping out in Awana this coming year! There are still several opportunities for you to become involved! Join us on the night of Wednesday, August 25th, for our annual Awana Celebration! Stop in anytime between 6:30-8 to finish getting registered, meet your directors, and play on the inflatables!
