Celebrating 40 Years

November 20-21

During the weekend of November 20-21, the Valley Craft Network will celebrate its 40th Studio Tour. It's a great opportunity for you to find high-quality hand made crafts right here in Maryland!  Buying gifts? You'll get the chance to meet the artists, which makes your gift purchase even more personal.  Twelve of the thirteen artists will be available for you to visit and see where and how pieces are created.  Best of all, avoid shipping delays and global supply issues by choosing gifts that are locally made!

Here is a preview of the 13 artists in the 2021 Valley Craft Network tour:

There are FIVE potters, each very unique and creative.  M4 Studios and Tameria Martinez Clay produce high temperature stoneware clay and finish through wood-firing their pieces which produces a warm and natural appearance.  Foxcross Pottery and van Gilder Pottery create their work through the use high-temperature clays and glazes and gas-fired kilns.  These pieces offer vivid color schemes and textures that invite the senses of the user and add to the aesthetic of the environment.  Jennifer Bernhard Pottery is made from earthen ware clays and uses the Sgraffito technique to add vivid colors and intricate designs in all of her pieces.

Another artist working in ceramics and mosaics is Jane Pettit Art. Jane uses ordinary objects and makes them extraordinary through her skillful and artistic touch.  At this time, Jane is only offering on-line sales and virtual tours of her work.

The VCN tour will feature two wood workers this year.
Contentment Turnings by Dave offers a variety of beautifully turned vessels and containers that are uniquely stained and shaped to enhance your living space.  Woodendeavor by Dan Rudy offers finely crafted tables, shelves, charcuterie boards, as well as Wood Block Relief Printing.

If you love jewelry, Beth Carey at Studio2bcj is a great place to visit.  Her passion for creating unique pieces that reflect the natural world around us, is evident through her finely crafted jewelry.

JRW Creations has a variety  hand made clothing and accessory items that will warm your soul.  Many of her creations are made from up-cycled wool sweaters. New cotton, silk and wool fabrics are also used  beautifully crafted and one of a kind items that will amaze you.

Another stop on our VCN tour is Caprikorn Farms,
Maryland's first and only On-Farm-Home Licensed Goat Cheese Processor.  Taste delicious cheeses and treat yourself to lavish soaps at Caprikorn Farms.

If you enjoy the rich colors and beautiful scenes of our natural world, you will want to collect some works from Kesra Hoffman Landscapes.  She also offers extraordinary notecards, hand bound journals and more.

Taste the season by stopping Willow Oaks Cider where you will find perfectly crafted ciders produced on site.  Their organic orchard offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can take in the beautiful scenery accented by excellent cider and dessert wines.
