TONIGHT! Don't miss out:

We're working on a MOONSHOT, Petaluma! The IPCC report this week just affirmed what we all already knew: WE ARE IN CODE RED. If we do nothing, the future is very grim. There is no time left to sit on the sidelines and wait for someone else to take the ball. Jump in the game with us. We promise to make it worth your while.

WHO: YOU!! (If not you, then who?) Anyone who lives in Petaluma (It's okay if you are outside City limits)
WHAT: A Tour of the Cool Block Program
WHERE: Good old Zoom ;) Use this link: https://zoom.us/j/92248825740?pwd=WDU1Q0trVjIxNXI5R2xodW9OcmFsdz09
WHEN: TONIGHT! Thursday, August 12 from 5:00-6:30 PM
WHY: To learn about the Cool Block program to create a more planet-friendly, disaster-resilient, and community-rich block and consider becoming a block leader.
RSVP: Helpful, but not required. Please reply to this email to let me know you are coming. And feel free to share with your friends. The more the merrier!

Can't make this? No problem. More opportunities are coming. Check back in at  http://aqus.com/cool/ for upcoming events. We'll be adding them as we go.

Individually, we are but drops in the ocean, but collectively, we are the ocean. Let's change the tide together...

The Cool City Challenge is the community climate Moonshot we've all been waiting for.

A few more thoughts....

What is a Moonshot? For me, a good Moonshot has three key elements:
  1. It's something you didn't think you could do, but you were brave enough to imagine you could. So every night when you look up at the moon you think: What if we could get there?
  2. It inspires awe. The very attributes we struggle to define are also the things we cherish most. So every night when you look up at the moon you think: Wow! That's beautiful and I love our night sky. How amazing it is to be floating through space on this big ball called Earth!
  3. It adheres to the laws of physics. There is a difference between pure fantasy and a potential future reality. The technology had not yet been invented, but there were no scientific reasons we could not travel to the moon. So every night when you look up at the moon you think: We can do this.
So is protecting planet Earth and the awe-inspiring abundance of life and beauty and potential found here worth a Moonshot? HELL YES! We've searched the entire universe for anything remotely resembling our world and have found nothing else like it. THE EARTH IS INCREDIBLY UNIQUE, AND INFINITELY VALUABLE, AND DEFINITELY WORTH SAVING! And science says we already have the ability to make the necessary changes, all we are missing is the will to make it happen.

This is our defining moment as a species. Will we be smart enough, brave enough, imaginative enough to do what is necessary? I say yes because I love my family, I love my community, and I love my home Earth. I challenge all of you to join me.

With love and hope and gratitude,

Natasha
