South Australia’s Road Safety Strategy to 2031
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport, on behalf of the South Australian Government, has developed a draft South Australia’s Road Safety Strategy to 2031. Developed with input from communities, stakeholders and road users across the State, the draft Strategy contains principles that underpin road safety decision making and nine strategic priorities that are the focus areas for the Strategy.
Every person in South Australia is a road user. Whether you drive, ride, are a pedestrian or a passenger, this is your opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Strategy to guide South Australia’s focus for the next decade. CSIRO Kick-Start Program
This program aims to help Australian start-ups and small SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) access funding to undertake research, development, or testing activities with CSIRO. The program provides facilitation and matched funding services to eligible SMEs with a turnover or expenditure of up to $100 million.
SME Connect’s Kick-Start SME Connect team, will assist in:
- Connecting the business to the best CSIRO research expertise, utilising the national CSIRO network of facilitators and contacts
- Expediting the application process and helping with project design, if required, to ensure the project meets customer needs and expectations
- Maintaining end-to-end engagement – remaining in communication with both researchers and businesses during the course of, and after completion of, the project
Vouchers between $10,000 and $50,000 are available on a dollar-for-dollar matched funding basis. Find out more here.

Future Drought Funds Drought Resilience Innovation Grants
Expressions of Interest are now open for the Future Drought Fund’s Drought Resilience Innovation Grants. These grants will support innovative projects that equip farmers and agricultural-dependent communities and businesses with the tools and capacity to adapt, reorganise, transition and/or transform in preparation for drought conditions such as changing temperature, increasing variability and scarcity of rainfall, and changed seasonality of rainfall.
The grant process will be run in 2 stages: an initial EOI, followed by a targeted competitive round for shortlisted EOI applications. EOI’s are due 8 September 2021.
There are 3 grants on offer:
- an Ideas grant providing $50,000 for 1 year
- a Proof-of-Concept grant providing up to $120,000 for 1 year
- an Innovation grant providing $300,000 to $1.1 million per year for up to 3 years
The total funding available for this grant round is $37.6 million (GST inclusive) to support innovation projects that address the grants guidelines. The grants are available for projects that focus on development, extension, adoption and some commercialisation activities. Find out more here.

Senior Station Hand
Woakwine Station are a family owned and operated, large-scale livestock business. Cattle trading is their core enterprise, utilising rotational cell grazing systems and regenerative agriculture practices.
An exciting opportunity exists for a reliable, hands-on person to join their team as Senior Station Hand. You will need demonstrated cattle and machinery knowledge and will report to the Operations Manager on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Livestock health, stock movements, irrigation, haymaking
- Maintain records and report to Manager
- Maintenance of fencing and yards
- Operate and maintain farm machinery
- 'Low-stress management' of stock
- Adhere to OHSW policies and procedures
- Effective working relationships with team members
- Maintain and upgrade personal Professional Training and Development
Punctual and organised, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are essential attributes to make a success of this role.
