Dear Colleague,

We hope your week is off to a great start! We're grateful to have members from all over the world with subject matter expertise from a wide range of industries. MOBI members include many of the world’s largest vehicle manufacturers, along with startups, NGOs, transit agencies, insurers, toll road providers, smart city leaders, technology companies, and many more. Our community is always buzzing with exciting announcements and upcoming projects. This week, we wanted to share some of that news in our Community Corner. If you're interested in learning more about the MOBI Community, view our
Meet Our Community page. We also have exciting Community Innovation Lectures coming up including tomorrow's lecture with Hector Monsegur. Hector will share his experience as a black hat, his transition to white hat, and his current role in assisting large enterprises against cyberattacks. He will also share his thoughts on recent ransomware hacks, potential attack vectors in supply chain, IoT, automated vehicles, and how enterprises can become better prepared. Join us 15 September to hear Mayank Malik review ongoing research in device identity authentication in decentralized distributed environments. Mayank is Chief Data Officer at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science laboratory at Stanford University. Mayank will explore Keymaker, a set of smart contracts, protocol, and helper libraries that enable social verification of IoT device identity.

Register for the Digital Identity Management Lecture
Join Tram Vo on 29 September to learn more about MOBI Trusted Trip and how it promises to transform the global mobility ecosystem. Vehicles are the largest source of CO2 emissions in many countries. Currently, the technology to measure, manage, and incentivize greener behavior doesn’t exist. MOBI is creating blockchain-based standards to identify vehicles, people, businesses, and the Trusted Trip — a key primitive enabling smart mobility and carbon tracking.
