Downtown Employee Appreciation Day is taking place in ONE WEEK on Wednesday, August 25 from 11am to 2pm at Kerr Park! Join Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership for a lunchtime event in the park featuring live music, free cold treats, and pop-up booths and activities by various downtown organizations and services.

Enjoy your lunch (BYO or purchase from a food truck at the park) and learn more about the different amenities available to downtown employees. The event is come-and-go, free to attend, and open to all downtown employees.

KERR PARK BOCCE BALL LEAGUE

Register now to join the 2021 Kerr Park Bocce Ball League. Grab your most skilled friends or coworkers to compete downtown on Tuesdays in September from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Our summer tournament will include 16 teams battling it out over 4 weeks to win the trophy and title of Bocce Ball champions!

The $20 team fee includes registration for 2-4 players and limited-edition Kerr Park Bocce Ball League swag. More tournament information and a player sign-up sheet will be emailed to you after payment. The deadline to register is Friday, August 27.

DEEP DEUCE DIRECTOR'S CUT RETURNS

Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership and the Business Improvement District are excited to announce 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝘁 will return for its third year on Friday, September 10 at 8pm.

The universe’s best-kept secret will be revealed at this year’s outdoor screening of the 1997 film, Men In Black (PG-13) starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

 The screening will take place on the grass lot located at 320 N.E. 2nd Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for the movie. Join the neighborhood for a special night under the stars for this free outdoor movie event.

OKLAHOMA PADDLESPORTS FESTIVAL

Join Oklahoma Riversport for a weekend of adrenaline-fueled racing featuring Olympic and World Champions from around the globe this weekend, August 20-24. The festivities kick off with a World Party on Friday evening – and you’re invited!

See demos all weekend long at the Oklahoma PaddleSports Festival from some of the top Freestyle Paddlers in the world. Watch kayakers drop 12 feet into whitewater, then race for the finish. Saturday features a portage race, the Great Paddle on the Oklahoma River for youth paddlers, and the main event, the ICF Canoe Sprint Super Cup. Don't miss out on all the action!

OKC COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

The Oklahoma City-County Health Department is now offering the free COVID-19 vaccine at all of its clinics. All Oklahomans age 12+ are eligible. OCCHD recommends individuals get vaccinated even if they have had COVID-19 and recovered for increased immunity against the Delta variant. More cases are being seen now in young people, age 15-44, than reported in that age group last summer. Talk to your employer about its time-off policy to get vaccinated.
