According to the Ministry of Manpower's June labour market report, youth unemployment rate in Singapore was 10.6% in 2020, compared to 8.8% during the Global Financial Crisis and 9.3% during the Sars pandemic.
Graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds are often harder hit as they lack the resources available to their peers.
IM Ready, one of Image Mission's signature programmes, seeks to address this need by equipping them with tools to ace their job hunt. Through a 4-weekly programme, our clients learn to craft their resume, develop a job search action plan and hone their interview skills.
And in helping them to secure employment, we hope to impact not just their lives but those of their families too.
One recent graduate, Qi Shan, shares her experience with us in this issue.
We thank you for your continued support of Qi Shan and others like her.

HIGHLIGHTS
IM READY
Qi Shan
I attended the IM Ready programme as I wanted to apply for an internship but didn't know how to prepare for interviews. I felt I needed help as I am soft-spoken and not very confident.
The coach not only helped to boost my confidence, she also assessed our skills and interests and gave helpful tips on what interviewers were looking for. I was able to complete an elevator statement and resume which I could use in my applications.
I also attended the complimentary styling service as I didn't have any formal clothes in my wardrobe. The stylist helped me choose clothes that were suitable for my age and physique which really helped with my internship!
I really appreciate the time and help from the coaches from Image Mission.
Editor's Note: After attending our programme, Qi Shan secured internships at Watson's and Novartis. We wish her all the best!
