Amidst COVID-19, government repression comes in many forms including denial of artistic freedom, which is considered a human rights violation. Participants throughout Asia, especially Southeast Asia, provided their perspectives on their struggles to speak out in this publication produced by Artists at Risk Connection, Mekong Cultural Hub, and FORUM-ASIA. The report highlights key findings and gives recommendations to human rights organizations and civil society organizations to protect the rights of artists.
Even though there is a high rate of migrant movement in Southeast Asia and migrants are recognized as beneficial to their destination countries, they are still left out from the financial and aid systems. The report has been put together by Migrant Forum in Asia, presenting cases received from grassroots-level workers and highlights issues of wage theft faced by these migrants.
Asia Democracy Network published this report to advocate for media space advancement by mapping out the severe threats faced by organizations in Southeast Asia. The consultations were conducted with stakeholders in five countries to find recommendations to address these challenges appropriately.
