10 Days of Crowdfunding!
We're excited to announce that Project GROWS is fundraising with USA Today's "A Community Thrives Program" to strengthen and sustain Youth Leaders in Agriculture, our innovative career education and mentoring initiative oriented to teaching students skills in farming, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Prioritizing high school age participants from our region, Youth Leaders in Ag seeks to address racial, gender, and economic injustices concerning who has access to farming knowledge and careers. YLA benefits students through teaching, mentorship, and hands-on learning, as well as the broader community through greater food access, education, and nutrition. Check out this article published by the NewsLeader about the program.
Thanks to "A Community Thrives", now that we have reaching a fundraising milestone of $3,000 and more, Project GROWS is eligible for merit-based grants of up to $100,000 to grow Youth Leaders in Agriculture!

Join us in reaching our goal of 100 individual donors in crowdfunding before noon on Friday, August 13!

10 DAYS TO GO! Stay tuned over the next 10 days for pictures and stories from our spring crew and summer crew of Youth Leaders. We're excited to share their reflections about what this experience has meant to them. We'll kick it off with a reflection from Patricia W., rising senior at Staunton High School:

"COVID-19 has made it difficult to prepare for college. That’s why I was enthusiastic to apply when my guidance counselor, Mrs. Pleskonko, shared the opportunity to work for Project GROWS’ Summer Youth Staff. It was a big leap for me, but the supervisors have exceeded my expectations in dedication and consideration.
Just the simple actions of coordinating group breaks and checking in on our self-care were both unexpected and comforting."

"As expected, the farm work was oftentimes exhausting, but I’m proud of myself for having done it nonetheless."
