Miles and Miles
When we left Asia on June 4th, we found the airport terminals (Bangkok and Tokyo) to be nearly empty. We anticipated this to be the case since there simply aren’t that many international flights scheduled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, after passing through the nearly empty customs and immigration area at Dallas, Texas, we were blown away by how many people we filling the airport terminal. It was busier than we we’ve ever seen it. Talk about a shock! Don't ask us about the emotional breakdown in the cereal isle on our first trip to Walmart. ;) Way too many choices!
Since landing we have spent about one month on “the road” and have logged many miles. Our boys travel so well that a six to ten hour ride in the van is just another day for them. We’ve been so thankful to visit with many friends and supporters and look forward to visiting many more. This first road trip has confirmed once again how much we are thankful for each of you and how your partnership makes our ministry possible!
We have enjoyed being back in the US for the past two months. The boys have been able to cross off some “bucket list” activities. But, at the same time, we all look forward to being able to return to Thailand late this year. However, Thailand is in the thick of battling the pandemic with increasing restrictions being put in place in attempt to mitigate the spread of the Delta variant. Like much of the majority world, Thailand has very few doses of any COVID-19 vaccine available compared to their population, which means that restrictions and limited social interaction will be the case for months to come. This reality makes work and ministry tough for our teammates in Thailand. Would you pray with us that our teammates are able to thrive in their work and ministry relationships despite the limitations resulting from the pandemic?
