Presidential Candidate Visits

Monday, December 12 - 3:30pm, Hedges -- Sen. Rick Santorum

Anita Perry, wife of Republican presidential candidate Texas Governor Rick Perry, will visit Cornell on Thursday, December 8, speaking in the Hedges Conference Room at 3:30.  Mrs. Perry is a surrogate for Governor Perry's Presidential campaign.

Senator Rick Santorum will be coming to Cornell College on Monday, December 12, speaking in the Hedges Conference Room at 3:30.

Throughout the election season, Cornell will host numerous candidates for the Presidency of the United States of America.

Cornell College does not endorse any candidate seeking elected office or any political party.  The college does support critical thinking and analysis of political candidates and how to become civically engaged in the American democratic process.

Guest Speaker for AIDS Awareness Month
Monday, December 12, 4:30pm, OC

Ms. Janice Wells, the Director of Minority and Multicultural Health of the Iowa Department of Health will be giving a presentation about how AIDS has affected Mount Vernon and the surrounding community.  The event will be approximately one hour.  For questions, contact Ariel Harris.  

Volunteer Opportunity with Local Foods Connection

Local Foods Connection (LFC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to making local, healthy food available to disadvantaged members of the local community.  In order to conduct a series of focus groups with their service consumers, LFC needs help providing child care.  Volunteers are needed to provide child care support on Saturday, December 10 from 2-4pm at the Coralville Public Library and Thursday, December 15 from 6-8pm at the Iowa City Public Library.  For more information, check www.localfoodsconnection.org.
