It's great to see farmers markets up and running - live music in the air, farmers introducing people to fruits/veggies they've never tried before, friends and families chatting as they walk from booth to booth. We are so glad to be in this together with people like you!

Please read on for upcoming happenings and some requests for things that you can do to help us plan.

1. Promote CFMA's photo contest! During August 1-7, if someone takes a picture at their local farmers market, they can tag @cofarmersmarkets on Instagram or @coloradofarmers on Facebook and be entered to win $30 of market bucks that they can use at their local market (may be your market!) Additionally, their photo may be shared/highlighted on CFMA's page! If you're an individual market running your own photo contest, simply ask them to tag your market and CFMA, and they can be entered in both. Find our graphic that you can use here.
2. Post about National Farmers Market Week or share CFMA's posts this week! You can find the toolkit with ideas here.
3. (For Markets) Order stickers! No upfront cost, our ask is that you offer these at your market for a suggested donation and split earnings with CFMA 50/50. We are currently sending stickers, but depending on postage time we may not be able to get them to you in time for National Farmers Market Week - we will try! They are a great promotion throughout August and for the rest of the season. Order stickers here.

Starting this year, Colorado is part of the federally funded WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) with 11 farmers markets around Colorado participating in the initial year of the program. FMNP offers WIC participants $30 in vouchers ($5 increments) to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs (not potted or planted) from participating farmers markets. WIC participants, contact your local clinic to learn more and receive the vouchers.

Farmers markets participating in the program this year are:

Alamosa Farmers Market, Boulder County Farmers Markets (Boulder, Longmont and Union Station - Denver), Cortez Farmers Market, Durango Farmers Market, Greeley Farmers Market, Gunnison Farmers Market, Montrose Farmers Market, Southern Colorado Farm Market and Craft Fair (Pueblo) and Rifle Farmers Market.
