Council adopts plans for jobs and economic development

Cessnock City is pleased to announce it has adopted the Greater Cessnock Jobs Strategy 2036 and Economic Growth Agenda. On public exhibition throughout May, the Strategy and Agenda were supported unanimously at the July meeting of Council.

The Strategy outlines economic development priorities and opportunities that will maximise the prosperity of the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA). It articulates the plan to accomplish jobs growth, wage growth, education attainment and increased visitor expenditure through productivity, investment, innovation and people.

Micro businesses eligible for funding
If you are a micro-business that has been impacted by the recent COVID-19 restrictions, you may be eligible for the COVID-19 Micro-business grant.
Small businesses, sole traders or not-for-profit organisations with aggregated annual turnover between $30,000 and $75,000 may be eligible to apply.

$280 million available for recovery and resilience 
The $280 million Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) Grants program will help communities address priorities for recovery and resilience after the 2019-20 bushfires.
This is in addition to support already provided through a range of bushfire recovery programs.

Expression of Interest - Participation in World EXPO

Investment NSW are partnering with Austrade and DFAT at the World Expo to showcase capabilities and deliver outcomes for NSW companies that wish to participate.
The program includes attendance at sector-specific expos and conferences, pre-departure briefings, B2B and B2G delegations and matching, roundtables with priority markets, networking receptions and attendance at World Expo events and cultural activities.
