Hello to all past, present and future Chena families. You are receiving this email as you have filled out our intake form or participated in Chena Skills in the past. The intention of this list is to share with you club news such as important information regarding, assessments, registrations, other fun club events related to our Skills program and the transition to our Junior Competitive Program. Getting Ready for Summer Skills

For everyone who has indicated to us that you are interested in participating in our August Summer Session of Chena Skills, we have been in contact with you personally either inviting you to register or requesting you to attend our assessment this evening, August 3rd.

Swimmers who participated in our 2021 Spring Chena Skills session or been previously assessed can register for the August session without another assessment. To see which class you have been invited to register for see here.

Below is some important information about our assessments this evening:

Please have your child show up with their swimsuit under their clothes. There are no changerooms available in the facility.
Only swimmers and coaches are allowed in the facility – parents have to wait outside as the facility does not allow spectators.
We enter the facility promptly 5min after your registered assessment time. If you are late we may no longer be outside to receive you. It is a good idea to plan to arrive a few minutes early so that you don’t miss us.
The assessment will take approximately 15min of pool time.
Please bring goggles for your child. They are required for all of our programs.
We will provide a kickboard for the assessment. After the assessment, your child will need to bring their own kickboard. We cannot borrow kickboards from the pool due to NVRC COVID protocols.
Please meet us at the west entrance to Harry Jerome near the playground.

If you have not already done so, to register for an assessment, please add your child’s name to this Google Sheet beside the time that works best for you. Please register only one child per available slot. After you register on the Google Sheet, please read through our Return-to-Swimming COVID Health and Safety Plan and then sign the Chena Participation Agreement. This form is required before your swimmer can participate in an assessment. You can either email a digital copy to me, or bring a hard copy to your assessment in person. We will also have paper copies that you can sign at the pool if needed.

Assessment Results

As we will be assessing many swimmers all at once, and as our attention will be on ensuring your child has a fun and safe assessment, we may not be able to provide you with the results of the assessment immediately after your child finishes their assessment.

Once your child has been assessed, you can view the result of your assessment here. Results for assessments will be posted by 10pm. When you view your assessment result, it will show you which class your child has been invited to join. With this invitation you can continue the registration process by registering on to the waitlist for the class you have been invited to. Once the class fee has been paid your registration will be complete.

Fall Season

For everyone who has filled out the intake form expressing interest in Skills or our Junior Competitive Program for the fall, we are still in the process of organizing assessments dates for our Fall sessions. As soon as I have more information I will pass it forward to you. In the meantime, if there are any questions about the program I am happy to answer them.
