COVID Restrictions Ease Up
We are happy to report that Taiwan has recently eased up on the COVID restrictions. This is the first time in over two months that churches reopened their doors for corporate worship once again. We were thrilled to gather and sing praises in Chinese to our good God!
Finding Contentment in Affliction
Although our semi-quarantine afflictions are light in comparison to many other trials, living these past two months in semi-isolation has not been enjoyable; however, the Psalmist reminds us, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes” (Psalms 119:71).
We are learning that true contentment often does not come from the removal of the thing afflicting us, but by God’s grace to transform trials into testimonies of enduring faith, hope, joy, and peace. Jeremiah Burroughs, a Puritan preacher from the 1600s, once said:
