WHAT'S GOING ON?
We are saddened to announce the passing of a beloved member of the community and of Village Connections. Alberta "Bert" Stevens passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 82. Her surviving son, Monte Stevens, expressed Bert's appreciation for all the cards and words of support she had been receiving. You can read his wonderful tribute here. The German Village Society has announced plans for a celebration of Bert's life in the Huntington Gardens on September 4th.

Coffee Meet-Up | September 7th

Join us for our monthly Coffee Meet-Up at 10 AM at the German Village Society Meeting Haus.

This month's topic will be a conversation with Community Liaison Officer Robin Medley. He'll offer safety tips in addition to a Q&A.

WHAT'S NEW?
We want to set the bar high for the safety of our members & volunteers. The CDC now recommends everyone wear masks indoors in public areas where there are substantial or high community transmission rates, regardless of vaccination status. Please take a moment to review our updated safety guidelines.
A warm welcome to our newest members Tiny Hall, Josie Merkle, and June Loving, and our newest social members Lisa Willis and Michael Warner & Kevin Phipps.
Upcoming Event with Sister Villages:
On Monday, September 20th,  AHBH will have van rentals for a trip to the Columbus Zoo! Vans will be leaving at 10 AM. This is  also open to our group, but there is limited capacity. Please reach out if you're interested in joining.
RESOURCES
Columbus Public Health offers same day, walk-in vaccines for specific immunocompromised individuals who qualify for a third dose from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday at Columbus Public Health. No appointment needed. If you think you may qualify, please contact your healthcare provider to receive verification needed for a third dose.
We encourage everyone to pick up the phone and see how your neighbor or a friend is doing. A little conversation can go a long way!
