Highlighting CREATIVITY with artist performances & live-creation throughout Downtown Boise!


Treat yourself to a fun night with your favorite downtown retailers, services, watering holes and restaurants by browsing the listings below and making a plan to enjoy the places that make Downtown Boise the special place that it is.

Experience Supersized First Thursday!

Visit Downtown Boise the First Thursday of each month to experience art, shopping, dining and entertainment in a special and unique way you’ll only find Downtown. Supersized First Thursdays include multiple roving performances, games, meet & greets, and more.

Our local merchants plan exciting, engaging in-store events including food and beverage tastings, local art exhibits, and trunk shows. Stop into your favorite establishment or check out someplace new!

Events typically run from 5:00 – 9:00pm, but each merchant creatively plans their own event so check out the website for all the information!

FIRST FRIDAY ART & STUDIO STROLL
August 6th, 6pm-9pm in Garden City!


Garden City’s Surel L. Mitchell Live-Work-Create District is bustling with artists, artisans, and creative, artisanal businesses. Come to our neighborhood on the river as much as you can, but especially during our First Friday Art & Studio Stroll. You’ll find many locations open during the event, including artist studios, restaurants, and businesses featuring art events. In addition, there will be special events at many locations, including exhibits, readings, and performances.

32 Cells: Etherial Art Show
August 13th, 6pm-10pm
Join the Old Idaho Penitentiary for the sixth year of the 32 Cells Art Show, featuring brand new works by local artists inspired by stories of the spiritual and paranormal at the historic Idaho State Penitentiary. Artwork will hang on prison cell doors for viewing. All pieces will be available for purchase. Pepe’s Sauces will be on hand with food (tacos!) and Jo’s Traveling Bar will be here with alcoholic beverages for purchase.
Join us on a Friday the 13th (Friday, August 13) between 6pm and 10pm (last admission 9:15pm). Admission is $8 at the door or online. Due to the graphic nature and subject matter of this show, it is recommended for ages 13+ only.
All admission proceeds Idaho State Historical Society education programs.
