FILMEXPLORER #9

LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL
ON THE STARTING GRID

FILMEXPLORER is happy to return to Locarno for a full cinema experience and also to enjoy physical meetings – first of which the renewed collaboration with the Locarno Critics Academy, led by Christopher Small.
Nevertheless, we will still keep contact with the rest of the world through our postings and podcasts. Stay tuned!

For this joyful occasion FILMEXPLORER launches its new visual aspect, thanks to Zaide Kutay’s great talent (The Edge, 2020, with Géraldine Cammisar, discovered at FANTOCHE film festival), who drew this:

Amid the few films that are not premiered at this edition of the festival, our readers can already discover several film reviews on FILMEXPLORER:

Presented in the section “Open Doors”, three wonderful jewels from South-Asia:

From Indonesia: THE SEEN AND UNSEEN, by Kamila Andini
From Thailand: MANTA RAY, by Phuttiphong Aroonpheng
From the Philippines: ASWANG, by Alyx Ayn Arumpac

Concerning Switzerland, we are looking forward to discovering the new works from filmmakers such as Elene Naveriani, Lorenz Merz, Arami Ullon or Cyril Schäublin.
For the moment on FILMEXPLORER you can delve deeply into the discussions of…
