5×5 provides funding to elementary schools to enhance classroom instruction for K–5 students. Programs are directly connected to core learning outcomes and complement what students are learning in the classroom. The goal of 5×5 is that students will participate in 5 arts education experiences by the time they leave 5th grade. Elementary schools in Jefferson County Public Schools and New Albany Floyd County Schools may apply for 2021-2022 5×5 grants.

The Development and Membership Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising strategies of Locust Grove, including support for annual fund operations with the Business Manager, community online fundraising, support for capital campaign fundraising with the Executive Director, grant-writing,  sponsorship support, planning and executing fundraising events, and managing and expanding membership programs. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with all staff.

Locust Grove, Event and Marketing Manager

The Event and Marketing Manager plans, manages, and executes, and promotes programs for diverse audiences to support the interpretive story and financial stability of Locust Grove. Locust Grove, Museum Theatre Director

The Museum Theatre Director has responsibility primarily for the creation and development of performances presenting the stories of the people enslaved at Locust Grove from the 1790s through the 1850s. This will be done through scripted, devised, and improvisational performances. The actors who are hired and engaged in this work will feel informed, supported, listened to, and will understand their part of the overall programs and goals of the site. The Museum Theatre Director will use the latest research and suggest new research directions for the staff; will engage with other professionals in theatre and history; and will reach out to the wider community of the region. Audience feedback and talkback opportunities will be integrated into all programming. Programs may be presented on-site, at other locations, or virtually on video or by other means. We particularly encourage applications from people of color.

Drama by George, Drama Club Teaching Artist
As a part-time Drama Club Teaching Artist, you’ll help kids discover the joy of performing as you teach after-school drama clubs onsite at elementary and/ or middle schools in the Louisville area. We offer separate programs for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8; you can choose to teach any or all of those age groups.

The Associate Director of Development plays a critical role in the growth of fundraising efforts at Kentucky Opera and works collaboratively and strategically to advance the mission of the organization. This key position reports directly to the Chief Revenue and Advancement Officer and is primarily responsible for individual giving, with a special focus on major gifts. In partnership with the Chief Revenue and Advancement Officer, the Associate Director of Development will oversee the Annual Fund and also assist with all unrestricted and restricted grants and reports for corporations, foundations, and government agencies.

Photography Contest: Harrison County Community Foundation 25th Anniversary

The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) is now accepting submissions for their 25th Anniversary Photo Contest. The contest was created to recognize the past 25 years of support HCCF has provided throughout Harrison County. Participants are encouraged to submit photos reflecting the vast array of projects and programs the Harrison County Community Foundation has sponsored. The categories are:

  • Around the County: Showcasing any building, facility, program, or resource that HCCF had a part in funding.
  • Faces of Harrison County: Featuring those everyday Harrison County citizens who have been impacted by the Foundation.
  • HC Conservation: Highlighting Harrison County’s parks, trails, and conservation areas that HCCF has helped support.

Plein Air Paint Out
Experience creating artwork in the beautiful landscape of the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works. Monetary prizes will be provided to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.

Locust Grove - Museum Theatre Program
Historic Locust Grove is seeking non-union African-American actors to join our newly established Museum Theatre Program. Performers will be featured in programming that emphasizes the stories of the enslaved that once inhabited our site. Programming includes: Guided tours, voice-over performances for audio tours, exploration of African-American’s historical relationship with Shakespeare and much more. Artists are paid $20/hour for rehearsals and $25/hour for performances. We encourage African-American artists of all sexual orientations, gender identities and people with disabilities to audition. Fund for Emerging, Black-Led Organizations
The James Graham Brown Foundation announced a new grants fund for emerging, Black-led organizations. Funds will provide start-up grants of up to $15,000 each to local nonprofits that may have had trouble accessing fund­ing or need capacity-building support. Appli­cant organizations must be Black-led and incorporated locally; they must also have received their IRS 501(c)(3) letters in the last two years. Free Marketing Consulting to Nonprofits from Bellarmine Students
Bellarmine University's “capstone” marketing class, comprising 16 junior and senior marketing and communications students, is seeking three or four nonprofits who need FREE marketing help. The students even formed their own marketing agency, NEXU, to help them structure their service offerings. Projects can be strategic or tactical, social media or design, web or print. Logo design, social media metrics, and posters are all options. They are seeking only three or four clients for the coming semester, so act soon!

Shuttered Venues Operators Grant
The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program was established by the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act, and amended by the American Rescue Plan Act. The program includes over $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance.  Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees.  The SBA website has detailed information about the grant opportunity including FAQs and a checklist.  Prior to applying for the SVOG, organizations must have (1) DUNS number, and (2) SAM (System for Award Management) registration to be a recognized vendor with the federal government.

American Rescue Plan Grants
The Rescue Plan’s Grants to Organizations program will be carried out through one-time grants to eligible organizations including, but not limited to, nonprofit arts organizations, local arts agencies, arts service organizations, units of state or local government, federally recognized tribal communities or tribes, and a wide range of other organizations that can help advance the goals of this program. Grants will be made to eligible organizations to support their own operations. Unlike other Arts Endowment funding programs that offer project-based support, Rescue Plan funds are intended to support day-to-day business expenses/operating costs, and not specific programmatic activities.

Louisville Visual Art - Artist Resource Series
Louisville Visual Art (LVA) has launched a new professional development series designed to give emerging and mid-career artists in the Louisville area the continued support they need to thrive as professionals. The series will foster professional skills and provide a supportive community among Louisville's emerging and established visual artists. The program will be comprised of workshops, symposia, lectures, group critiques, master classes, and other valuable sessions throughout the year. These monthly sessions will address topics such as artist contracts, copyright law, grant writing, website development, social media strategies, framing and display, writing artist statements, gallery relationships, conducting studio visits, and more.
