What a summer - if it deserves that name at all is questionable.
But the ESA BIC CH team is making the best out of this rainy season!

On July 7th we co-hosted the ESA Investor Event, read more about it below.

The team also visited some of their start-ups in their labs/offices that they had not met in person before, due to Corona. This turned out to be a very worthwhile thing to do and we thank all our start-ups (NematX, XRNanotech, CondenZero, Inergio, Lumiphase) for hosting us and showing us around their premises. As this cohort was officially selected and "onboarded" virtually, it was great to finally meet in person.

Nanja went to Lausanne in order to
record a lecture for MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for a New Space Economy course which will be accessible to master students at EPFL and worldwide. The topic was "space and start-ups" and should inspire the next generation of space entrepreneurs and educate the non-space industry about the current opportunities offered by space techs. It was great fun!

The September newsletter will arrive a little later than usual, as we will redesign it, give it a bit of a make-over and will launch it during our Demo Day on September 16th. You can look forward to a great new style of our monthly news.

Speaking of the ESA BIC CH Demo Day - we are very much looking forward to holding this event in person again on September 16th. Due to Corona we have to still operate with a strictly limited guest list. You should have received our shiny invitation for it by post this week. Please make sure to register for it asap.

ESA Investor Forum on July 7th

In collaboration with ESA we organized an Investor Forum in Zurich, that connected selected start-ups from our portfolio and other European BICs with local (and European) investors. The start-ups had the opportunity to pitch and give insights into their technologies during a Q&A session following each pitch. Pitching start-ups were: Fixposition, Picterra, Synthara, RigiTech, BlackPin, Neural Concept, NematX, Bota Systems, Magdrive, ViBO Health. After the pitches and a lakeside chat with Luc Piguet from ClearSpace and Dominique Megret from Swisscom Ventures there was an apero and the atmosphere was so good, that no one wanted to leave really. It was great to see how everyone was enjoying an in-person event and engaging in conversation vividly. The ESA Investor Forums take place on a regular basis in different locations. The next one will happen in Dubai, shortly before th IAC, on the 24th of October at 16.30h.
