Respect, Responsibility and Enjoyment

Given that personal responsibility and respect for others are core values of our game, this note barely needs writing.  But we thought we would nevertheless.

The club is getting back to normal with a flourish.  We have tonight's Fanzone event, the Lions on Saturday and the "Welcome back to Rugby" lunch on the 3rd of September (read below new information about buying tickets on-line for that lunch) - not to mention all the pre-season work on the pitch and in the Shed that is happening throughout the playing sections.

All the numbers say that we have COVID on the run here in the UK, but the enemy is proving hard to utterly defeat.  Therefore we need to stay vigilant and take care. While most members at the club are fit, healthy or double jabbed - there will be some who are vulnerable.

So before you come down to the club, please:
  • Get a test if you have the slightest suspicion of having the symptoms
  • Get a test if you have the slightest suspicion you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive
  • Obey the rules of self-isolation if you've been pinged or test positive
  • Obey the rules of self-isolation laid down for overseas travel
  • Keep washing your hands
  • If you want to wear a mask in the clubhouse, please do so - no one is going to judge you.

When you come to the club for any large scale social event (Fanzone, Lions, lunches etc), please use the NHS track and trace QR code or sihn in iff you don't have the App. The club is not obliged to do this, but the Government advice is to do so.  Should an "outbreak" be identified at the club and we trigger a "Venue Alert", this is not a disaster. We are only doing our bit to keep our members safe. See the guidance below taken from HMG web page.

Venue alerts:

  • are triggered if there are 2 or more cases at your venue
  • are facilitated by NHS Test and Trace obtaining the records of your customers, visitors and staff who were there on the same day. If you are asked by NHS Test and Trace for this information, please share it as soon as possible. Do not inform customers or visitors directly, alerts will be managed by NHS Test and Trace
  • inform the attendee of their potential exposure to COVID-19 and advises them to book a test
  • are anonymous – your venue will never be named in an alert
  • do not close your venue. You will be given guidance at the point you are contacted by NHS Test and Trace so that you can continue to operate safely

It will because of our respect for others that we will continue to enjoy all that our brilliant club affords.

Thank you.
