NCAPA and AANHPI Leaders Meet with President Biden and Vice President Harris

Washington, DC—The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), National Director, Gregg Orton issued the following statement after several coalition leaders met with President Biden and Vice President Harris to discuss priorities on, anti-Asian hate, economic recovery, immigration and voting rights.

On behalf of the entire coalition, we thank President Biden and Vice President Harris for their continued commitment to work with the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. They both continue to make good on their promise to ensure our community has a seat at the table to be heard.

We are also deeply appreciative of their openness to engage in dialogue--and be held accountable to the issues that matter most to AANHPIs.

We are proud of the collective work of our member organizations who have engaged with all levels of the Administration, across nearly every issue area; and we look forward to continuing this work.

NCAPA member organizations included: Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), Asian Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote), Council of Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA), Empowering Pacific Islander Communities (EPIC), National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF), National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD), Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF), Southeast Asian Resource Action Center (SEARAC).
