Phoenix City Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari supports
PSP bike lane petition

Following the tragic and unnecessary death of beloved Downtown Ambassador Hans Hughes, PSP created this petition asking for bike lanes and infrastructure that effectively protects bicyclists (bollards > sharrows). Hans died from injuries he sustained after a drunk driver collided with him when he was bicycling downtown.

Phoenix City Councilwoman Yassmin Ansari supports this petition and so can you!

Sign the petition here or reach out directly to the City Council with this email (don't forget to personalize it).
Do you know your rights when on a bike?

Zero bike deaths in Arlington. Amazing what bike lanes can do!
Arlington, Virginia was ahead of the trend when it invested heavily in bike infrastructure pre-Covid. When Covid caused a surge in bike riding, the city was ready -- and it showed, as this study recently proved. Between 2019 and 2020, national cycling deaths increased 5 percent...except in Arlington, which had zero.

Leisure Reading

Here's what piqued our interest.
  • In a 1,100-mile ride like no other, five Black and Latinx men rode the Underground railroad, facing modern challenges and age-old prejudice.
  • Dare we hope? Congressional support for bicycle commuters is included in the budget reconciliation bill. We're talking tax breaks for companies that install e-bike charging stations and tax-free funds for buying, leasing or renting bikes to get to and from work.
  • These Phoenix seniors aren't letting age - or the lack of actual bikes - stop them from competitive cycling. Welcome to the Tour de Zest.
  • Driving and bicycling are different. Wouldn't it be nice if traffic violations reflected that reality? Here's a handy dandy cheat sheet for your next bike vs. cars debate that accurately reflects how traffic violations should be treated.
