(I work Wed, Thurs and Fri)
Hi Everyone,

Happy Landcare Week! It’s that time of year, where the nation's Landcarers take action, celebrate and reflect on the incredible work done under the Landcare banner. Here on the Far South Coast I want to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank you all for the amazing contributions you make to your communities and local land and water resources through your participation in your local Landcare groups.

2021 Landcare Week coincides with the National Landcare Conference and Awards. I know this isn't much notice (sorry!), but the National Landcare Conference has moved online and is free to tune in today; there are 4 interesting streams - Sustainable Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change, Community Partnerships and Landcare Impact. If you miss a talk and  want to catch up later, all conference sessions are being recorded and will be available on the Landcarer Platform after the conference.

It continues to be an abundant time in terms of funding available and I have listed a few more opportunities below. Congratulations to the groups in our area who have been successful in their applications for the Landcare led bushfire recovery funds. Through this program the FSCLA successfully attracted additional funding for our native seed bank and are pleased to report that we have put on two new seed bank officers - Jens Birchall and Merryn Carey. Please keep us in mind and get in touch to talk about seed needs for up-coming plantings. Karen Walker is leaving this position after many years as she is moving further North, we thank her for her work over the years and wish her all the best with the move.

COVID-19 and the associated restrictions continue to impact us all in our daily lives and I hope you are all managing okay under the circumstances. I feel fortunate that here in the Bega Valley shire, we are still able to carry on with our working bees while following COVID-safe procedures and it has been great to catch up with many of you in recent weeks.

Take care, Jess
