NYS CDFI Investor Club - CDFI Friday, August 6
We're looking forward to the next informational webinar about the NYS CDFI Investor Club with our partner, Impact Finance Center - tomorrow - Friday, August 6. This event is a little bit different as we welcome the dean of CDFIs (he literally wrote the book on them!) - Cliff Rosenthal. He'll talk about the history and future of CDFIs and their vital role in strengthening communities.
The event will also feature a NYS CDFI in conversation with one of their investors. They'll illustrate how CDFIs are a powerful investment, delivering both social impact and financial return! Coalition Board member Yanki Tshering of Accompany Capital will talk with Kayoko Lyons, Investment Director of Cabrini World - Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus about their decision to invest in line with their values by supporting refugee entrepreneurs.
These monthly programs are a great opportunity for our members to highlight the work they're doing in front of an audience of prospective investors - those who watch in real time, as well as those who participate in Impact Finance Center's Impact Investing Institute. The non-profit Institute identifies, trains, and activates individuals and organizations to become impact investors, helping them better align their assets with their values. They are working to move more money to social ventures by creating the infrastructure for a Nationwide Impact Investing Marketplace by 2030 - and NYS CDFI Coalition members are on the list!
