Dear Members, 
We are pleased to share our July progress highlights:
  • Of the initial shortlist of 27 companies for the 2022 Accelerator Cohort, 15 have been selected by the Steering Committee to progress to the next round of interviews. A task force of corporate representatives and independent directors is being assembled to interview the finalists in the coming weeks. 
  • 2019 India Accelerator Alumni Padcare Labs novel sanitary napkin recycling technology is now patented! Learn more here
  • 2018 India Accelerator Alumni Garv received $200k in debt funding from Bertzman Ventures.
  • Two Accelerator Alumni are currently reviewing the list of tentative locations for piloting their public sanitation business models with the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to check for economic viability. 
  • 2020 Accelerator Alumni Eram Scientific has piloted the process of monthly self assessment of public toilets based on Star Rated Public Toilet Guidelines in two towns during July. This will continue going forward in cities/towns serviced by Eram Scientific (2020 Cohort), Lootel (2019 Cohort) and Bhumijo (2020 Cohort) throughout the year.
  • The TBC hosted a ‘Sanitation Adventure’ workshop in July during One Young World’s Annual Summit and took participants through our Choose Your Sanitation Economy Adventure game.  
  • Communications highlight / Linkedin audience growth of 4% and visibility up 42% compared to June
Please mark your calendars for our session with the GSMA at SIWI’s World Water Week – Using Data to Build Resilient Urban Sanitation and Waste Management on 24 August from 15-16h00 CEST.
