Ningxia Wine Region and Wine Tourism Opportunities

For our “Western China Food & Wine” series we have previously published two articles on Chinese wine regions, those of Yunnan and the Sichuan Alpine Wine region. We add a new chapter today by proposing to our readers a third “strategic wine region” in China, and much better known than those previously discussed, the one located in Ningxia.

Ningxia is a small (compared to other Chinese entities) landlocked autonomous region in Northwestern China. It is bordered by Shaanxi, Gansu and Inner Mongolia. It is populated by only 6,3 million people, of which 30% is made by the Muslim Hui ethnic minority. Separated from Gansu in 1958, its recorded history dates back to 200 BC and beyond...Read more

Exhibition of the Three Kingdoms Legend
This exhibition brings together more than 160 pieces/sets of Three Kingdoms fine cultural relics from 36 domestic cultural units and museums, and absorbs the research results of the Three Kingdoms culture in recent years. Katta 2nd Children's Image Art Festival
Katta 2nd Children's Image Art Festival is the first children's art festival in China that takes children under 14 years old as the main subject of creation and uses video as the main artistic presentation. It is hoped that the camera will become another tool for children to explore the world and that images will become another language for them. The exhibition consists of three areas: an indoor exhibition area, an outdoor exhibition area and a community sub-exhibition site, with more than 400 young artists and more than ten organizations participating. Throughout the exhibition, a variety of activities will be held, including children's video workshops, video art education seminars, and children's film screenings. More info
