This Sunday at SDFC
Join us this Sunday, August 8th for the return of our annual Summer Celebration! We will gather at Crown Point at 10:30am for a short service that will feature reflections on some of our summer ministries and events.

Then afterwards, stick around to enjoy a free taco lunch prepared on-site, lawn games, and a time of fellowship to celebrate as summer events and ministries come to a close!

Shade canopies and some chairs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own umbrella, chair and/or picnic blanket as well. We hope to see you there!

Worship Update
Beginning September 5th, we will return to two Sunday morning worship services: The Classic service will meet in the Ellipse and the Contemporary service will meet in Brown.
Both of these services will meet at the same time, 10:30am, and all Sunday schools will meet at 9:00 am.

We will do this for a trial period of 13 weeks, which will conclude on November 28th. During December, we will have unified services, including special music presentations, and provide opportunities for feedback regarding our fall services.

Thank you to those who provided feedback to help us shape this plan for our Sunday morning services moving forward. We are grateful to be on this journey with you!
In Our Prayers...
  • Kay & Dee Kelley: Please be in prayer for Pastor Dee and his wife, Kay Kelley, as they continue to navigate medical challenges.

If you have a prayer request you would like to share, either privately with the church staff or with the SDFC community, please contact the church office at church@sdfcnaz.com or (619) 849-3100.

An Update from the Kelleys:

Dear Church Family,

Thank you for your love, your care, and particularly your prayers.  We have been on this prayer list for over three months and want to provide an update on Kay's condition. At the end of March, Kay was having difficulty breathing. On April 6th, she was hospitalized for eight days and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure attributed to acute damage to the left ventricle of the heart. A regimen of medicine, therapy and diet were prescribed. After 14 weeks tests were run again and the result was “no significant improvement.”

As a result, the next step is the insertion of a “Bi-V ICD” which is a particular type of pacemaker. The hope is that this will resynchronize the ventricles and improve the heart’s functioning. This is scheduled for the second week in September. Though there has been no significant improvement to the heart, Kay is feeling better and periodically gets out of the house to enjoy this beautiful San Diego summer. Thanks again for all of your prayers.

-Dee and Kay
