We will be hosting a superlative Syrah tasting at 148 Upper Leeson Street next Wednesday evening (11th) from 6pm-7.30pm.
Some big guns ... have a look at the picture above for the line up. Ian will be hosting this tasting and with names like Jamet, Testalonga and Arnot Roberts it is not to be missed.
Because of the limited space for this event, we can only take full table bookings. Each table seats 4 people and tickets are €40 per head / €160 per table. Great opportunities to taste some fantastic fine wines.
Because of the very limited number of tables these tastings sell out very quickly so please reserve by calling the shop on 015585838 and paying for your table - there is someone there from midday today.
Weather currently is looking really middling but this will be under the awnings outside the shop so there will be some protection against the elements!
These events finish at 7.30pm and the good folk at Perroquet just around the corner from us have asked us to let you know that they would be very happy to take 8pm bookings for dinner or drinks afterwards (01) 677 1223
One of our favourite producers is Jeff Coutelou. He produces wine in the Languedoc near Beziers. He is an absolute outlier in a sea of industrial production down there. All natural, all handmade, indigenous yeasts, no SO2 added. So much of a renegade in this part of France that he featured in the Netflix series Rotten - and not for good reasons! His vines were vandalized by local farmers who didn't like his way of doing things. You can buy his wines from our website and we think Classe is the one to try first! We would recommend putting it into the fridge for 45 mins before serving and then decanting.
In August we will have a small change to our opening hours to facilitate us all taking a few days holidays after what has been quite a crazy year! Dun Laoghaire hours will stay the same as below. Upper Leeson Street will change as below with the major change being that we will be closed Tuesday as well as Mondays during the month, and opening a little later (midday) on Saturdays.
