Kristy Christie

Dear <<First Name>>

As the impacts of COVID-19 go on, I’m finding it easy to get caught in a rut where days start to feel a bit the same and my creativity wanes. The irony is that as Zoom fatigue grows and people are at their limit of staring at a screen, creativity and innovation of messages is more important than ever.

I’ve started using infographics and creating comic strips to share safety messages at my workplace and even reverted to printing hard copies of a new strategy and embossing key messages on to cookie icing to overcome technology overload.

A few tricks I’ve used has been calling on IABC resources to find inspiration. The ever growing collection of content in Catalyst includes case studies from past Gold Quill winners and articles on innovation, business acumen and career roadmaps. For those with an audible preference, PodCatalyst is also available for download, while many IABC webinars from around the world are available for members to view on catch up.

Thankfully creativity for the IABC APAC board has been flourishing as we finalise our strategy for the year ahead. This year we’ve had the advantage of the launch of a new IABC strategy from head office. “IABC 2025: Stronger Together” outlines the global roadmap for the next four years and our regional strategy will build on this to maximise the collaboration across members, chapters and with other regions.

‘Data driven’ is one of the operational pillars of IABC2025 and the strategy was developed with this in mind, using data to identify the key challenges facing communication professionals. It was reassuring to see that I’m not alone with some of these feelings and comforting that we can develop a strategy that helps address them.

I look forward to hearing more stories from across IABC APAC and having our members share their experiences so that we can all be better communication professionals and deliver value to our companies and clients in more diverse and creative ways.

James
Chair IABC Asia Pacific
July was a milestone month for IABC with the release of IABC 2025: Stronger Together, the global roadmap for IABC to 2025.

The plan is comprised of six pillars, designed to drive the association forward during the next four years. These pillars are divided into two broad areas: How We Will Operate and How We Will Grow.

If you missed the launch of the strategy, never fear! There is a wealth of information available about the strategy itself and the work behind the scenes to develop it.

Hear from IABC International Executive Board Chair, Danielle Bond in episode 13 of PodCatalyst. Talking about the launch of the strategy, Danielle talks in-depth about how the plan will lay a foundation to build a stronger network of communication professionals, driven by a shared passion for using communication to make businesses more successful.

The Catalyst article, IABC Research Identifies Industry Challenges, Trends and Opportunities highlights how professional input and current global industry trends informed the development of the strategy; notably, the six pillars which underpin it.

Stay tuned in the coming months as we work to implement IABC 2025: Stronger Together across the APAC Region.
