EARLY RESULTS FROM OUR WHYTE AVE SURVEY
Thanks for your input!
About 450 people shared their vision for the future of Whyte Ave! Some early results:
Over 83% of respondents hoped that sidewalks would be widened in the future.
Most respondents also wanted more space for trees, benches, and posterboards,
as well as better-designed curb ramps.
Businesses, as a sub-group of respondents, thought traffic was moving too quickly along Whyte Avenue.
Only 2% of respondents from Strathcona hoped for more parking (8% of total respondents had this hope).
Some of our favourite responses shared so far to "What's your vision for Whyte in 5 years in 5 words or less?"

MUNICIPAL ELECTION HOME PAGE
Let's make safe, liveable streets a talking point this election
Paths for People wants safe, liveable streets to be a major issue at the upcoming Municipal Election (October 18, 2021).
Over the summer we will be launching videos about the connections between safe, liveable streets and the economy, health, social equity, and fiscal responsibility.
In the lead up to the election we will also be asking all candidates questions about safe, liveable streets, and giving you ideas for questions to ask at forums and on the doorstep.
Our first videos will be posted soon!
We are also currently running a survey of all Council and Mayoral candidates on their vision for and thoughts about active transportation, safety, and city building.
So far we have received responses from 32 candidates, and there are more to come. Stay tuned for when we share all the responses in a few weeks!
