Tucson Weekly group seeks interns
The Tucson Weekly and its family of community papers — including Explorer, Marana News, Foothills News and Desert Times — are looking for unpaid fall interns who can write features, profiles and news.
Candidates should know the basics of conducting interviews, writing balanced stories and AP style. Preferably, students should have taken JOUR 206/506 (beginning reporting) and/or have experience writing for the Arizona Daily Wildcat. Students will be expected to work up to 10 hours a week and produce one article a week.
Apply ASAP by emailing your résumé and clips to Jim Nintzel, Tucson Weekly executive editor, at jimn@tucsonlocalmedia.com. He and staffers are ready to help students learn how to develop stories and get bylines for their portfolios.
Students who land an internship and want part-time credit (2 units) should contact Mike Chesnick, internship coordinator, at mchesnick1@arizona.edu.
