Dear <<First Name>>,
How time flies! I hope everyone is doing well and spending their last few days of summer with family and friends in a safe way!
The fall season is just around the corner. Whether it is returning back to school or from our summer breaks, it is important for us to continue to wear our masks in all indoor public spaces and continue to wash and sanitize our hands.
British Columbia has one of the highest rates of vaccination amongst the world. Over 83% of people age 12 and older have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and over 75% have received both doses. If you haven’t gotten your vaccination yet, don’t delay. Make your appointment today. By getting your vaccine, you are contributing to a safer community and helping to put the pandemic behind us!
The new measures (included in this newsletter) are showing positive impacts already! There was a 200% increase in vaccine registrations after the announcement of these new steps. If you haven’t gotten vaccinated yet, it is never too late. Find a vaccine clinic near you by clicking here.

Mask Mandatory in indoor public spaces
As of August 25, masks must be worn by everyone who is 12 and older in all indoor public spaces. This includes places like retail stores, grocery stores, public transit, taxis, as well as post-secondary institutions, bars and restaurants (when not seated at your table). Don’t forget gyms and fitness centres, when you are not working out!
As students are going back to school, the mask mandate will also apply to all students, staff and visitors anywhere inside K-12 schools. This does not include students in K-Grade 3.

Get to know Anne's Constituency Volunteer, Mickey!
Mickey grew up in Burnaby and enjoyed volunteering at Burnaby Community Centres as a teenager. He went to UBC to study biology. One of his most memorable moments in UBC was working in a mushroom lab. Mickey’s mushroom research project is currently in the museum archives!
Recently, Mickey became interested in coding as well as computer programming. He likes to read and draw, and often takes strolls around nearby parks.
Fun Fact: His name, Mickey, is actually after the character Mickey Mouse! His parents got him a necklace with a Mickey Mouse pendant when he was young.
